TIKI/TROPICAL RUM cruise

Don your floral shirts and prepare for two hours of tropical rum fun as we set sail on the seven seas Union Canal with our Tropical/Tiki tour with Ruma Edinburgh.

Cruises will run once a month on Friday evenings from May to August. More dates will be added should there be enough demand!

Over the two hour cruise, you’ll sample four different premium rums from around the world, while we talk you through the story and flavours of each.

You’ll get to try each both as a neat sample to allow us to discuss and appreciate the differences you find, and as part of a classic Tiki cocktail to show off the versatility of each spirit.

You’ll also have the knowledge and expertise of our experienced rum hosts and mixologists who will discuss the history of the Tiki/Tropical movement and other interesting rum topics, and answer any and all questions you may have.

We change our rum selection every six months, so come back later in the year and you’ll get all new rums to try!

We have a strong preference for unsweetened and unflavoured rums, however you may find the odd spiced rum thrown in there. An example flight of rums we might use:

• Eminente Amber Claro – Cuba
• Chairman’s Reserve Legacy – St. Lucia
• Doorly’s XO – Barbados
• Appleton Estate 8 – Jamaica

Each of these will be served as a neat sample, and as a mixed drink or cocktail, created by our expert mixologists.

Canapes are provided for us by local caterers, Xanders. Each guest will receive three canapes each and all dietary requirements can be catererd for. All the money you pay for the food goes directly to Xanders to support local business – we do not take a cut!

If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please make us aware at time of booking – you will see a space to add this during checkout. You will also receive an email a week prior to the cruise with meeting info and a reminder to let us know about any requirements you have.

Food is pre-prepared and delivered to us in advance of each cruise so no substitutions are available on board. All relevant info must be provided at least 72 hours in advance.
